Headed on the road for our STAYcation that was changed from an original trip to San Antonio for Sea*World, but was changed because the A/C in our Tahoe went out while on the way to camp a couple of weeks ago....we all put on candy necklaces and PandaPop wouldn't be left out of the fun! We ended up having THE BEST staycation ever that was far better than being on the road in such horrible temperature and standing around an amusement park. More pics to come of our adventures!

I was about to pain PandaJOY's toenails when I dropped the glass bottle of bright red polish on the counter and then watched in slow motion as it crashed on the floor. And wall. And rug. Me and PJ just stopped for a second with mouths gaping open and stared. I got it all up, but it took many, many cotton balls drenched in polish remover and the paint came off the wall. Yikes!!!

One of the best weeks in children's ministry....CAMP! We do our own camp for 3rd-6th graders and on the same campus, but with their own camp is our middle school and high school student camp. This is our 3rd year to be on the same campus and it couldn't be any better of a set up. Our church LOVES this interaction with each other!!!!!!!!!!!!
My beloved Wild & Precious friend made these for PandaGirl and her friend who will be "real" campers next summer. She put her heart and soul into making THE most darling To Do books for the girls!!
This hottie was the camp Pastor and my LOVE!!!!!!! He truly ADORES the kids in his ministry and treasures the volunteers!! He did a great job and I love him soooooooo!
What words are needed for this breathtaking view of God's beautiful paintbrush?
Side note: The Friday before we left for camp, our car DIED on the grocery store parking lot which will cost a chunk to repair. On the way to camp our Tahoe*s A/C DIED and THAT will be a chunk of change. We are supposed to go on vacation week after next. Looks like it might be cut short or else we're packing our lunches. Yikes. ; )

Leaving tomorrow for children's camp!! It is such a fun time for our family and one of the highlights of children's ministry. So excited that PandaJOY gets to be with us this year! She and PandaGirl already have their cute Camp Shirts......they have connections to the camp pastor, I hear.

I have said before how much I LOVE Lemonade Makin' Mama. Wish she lived beside me in real life. I borrowed her recipe for these to-die-for Oreo* Cupcakes and cannot believe that my kitchen produced such delectable delights. Amazing!!!!!!!!!

There is an extreme fire danger because of the high temps outside and the super dry grass so there are burn bans all over Texas. Instead of making regular s'mores on the open campfire flame we opted for melting them on the back porch. Worked just fine, but I missed the roasty-toasty taste of the black and brown crackles on the marshmallows.

I've lived in Texas all my life. Born and Bred. I can't imagine living anywhere else. Everything in Texas is BIGGER. And better. Except for summer. Bleh. These are the days I wished I lived almost anywhere BUT here. We usually don't see these temps til late July and deep into August, but lucky us got to start the scorchings in mid-June this year. Yippee-Skippy. Makes me long for my fetish of fall even more. I heart pumpkins. Not dead grass.
